About ADHD

Here in Las Vegas we know there are parents who are working to help their children deal with ADHD. It can be hard to understand ADHD and help your child. We would like to introduce ourselves and discuss ADHD with you. Please contact us at 702-838-0742 to discuss your child’s particular needs.

Our studies are currently enrolling children and adolescents ages 4 to 17 and adults 18 and up. All studies include free ADHD evaluation and study medication if qualified. If you or your child have ADHD symptoms which interfere with your work, home, or lifestyle, you may qualify for one of our studies!

ADHD Symptoms in Children

The first thing one should do is learn more about the disorder in general.

Attention-Deficit / Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is one of the most common behavioral problems in children. The Centers for Disease Control estimates that as many as 9.5% of children and adolescents have been diagnosed with ADHD at some point in their lives. Symptoms of ADHD include problems with attention and / or hyperactivity and impulsivity. Not all children display the same symptoms, and that’s why at our Las Vegas office we always treat each child as the unique individual that they are. Some children just have problems with attention, whereas others may have both problems with attention and hyperactivity/impulsivity. A few children with ADHD may just have symptoms of hyperactivity/impulsivity.

Perhaps you have noticed some of these signs in your child:

  • Inattentive symptoms include:
    • often making careless mistakes
    • having trouble focusing
    • not listening
    • being messy and disorganized
    • avoiding schoolwork that requires mental effort
    • being forgetful or losing things
    • not following through on instructions
    • being easily distracted
  • Hyperactive/Impulsive symptoms include:
    • fidgeting or trouble staying seated
    • talking excessively
    • running or climbing when it is not appropriate
    • having trouble playing quietly
    • acting as if driven by a motor
    • having trouble waiting turns, blurting out or interrupting

If your child has some of these symptoms and is having difficulty in school, with friends or at home, they may have ADHD. The only way we can determine if there is anything troubling your child is to meet them in person. Please call us at 702-838-0742 to make an appointment. We’ll be glad to discuss your child’s situation in our office and recommend treatments and therapies that can make a big difference in their lives.
